    • Level B - AUD$113,841 to AUD$134,965 pa (plus 17% superannuation)
    • Level C - AUD$139,182 to AUD$160,308 pa (plus 17% superannuation)
    • Level D - AUD$167,348 to AUD$184,243 pa (plus 17% superannuation)

We are seeking an accomplished Equine Surgeon to join our Veterinary Clinical Centre (VCC), one of Australia's leading veterinary teaching hospitals, located in a regional setting.

This role offers a unique blend of specialist clinical practice, teaching, research and leadership. Working alongside experienced equine clinicians, residents and multidisciplinary specialists, you will contribute to a busy referral service while helping develop future veterinary professionals.

Based within our purpose-built Veterinary Clinical Centre, you will have access to advanced diagnostic, surgical, imaging, anaesthetic and monitoring technologies, enabling you to provide outstanding patient care, professional engagement and clinical instruction.

The successful candidate will be appointed to either a teaching-research or teaching-professional work function and will have access to the University’s generous relocation support assistance.

About you 

You will be passionate about advancing equine surgery, committed to excellence in veterinary education, and motivated to contribute to the profession through clinical practice, research and industry engagement.

To be successful you will have:

  • A veterinary qualification appropriate to the academic level being applied for.
  • Current registration, or eligibility for registration, with the Veterinary Practitioners Board of NSW.
  • Specialist qualifications in equine surgery, including Board Certification (ACVS or ECVS), Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists, eligibility to sit board examinations, or equivalent professional standing.
  • Demonstrated excellence in equine clinical practice and referral case management.
  • Experience delivering engaging, student-centred teaching to veterinary students.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with clients, referring veterinarians and industry partners.

For Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor appointment, you will additionally bring an established record of academic, clinical and/or professional achievement, leadership capability, and recognised contributions to the advancement of equine surgery nationally and internationally.
