The role

  • Full Time, Fixed Term (up to 2 years)
  • Level 6 - $92,025 to $99,538 p.a. (plus 17% superannuation)
  • Wagga Wagga

The Soil Scientist / Agronomist supports applied research, on‑farm trials and grower engagement through CSU’s Cool Soil Initiative at AgriPark, Wagga Wagga.

Working with farmers, industry partners and researchers, you will contribute to soil and plant sampling, field trials, data analysis and practical extension activities. The role also supports growers with emissions data collection and reporting, helping translate research into clear, on‑farm actions that improve productivity, sustainability and resilience.

This is a hands‑on, field‑focused role with regular regional travel.

About you

You are a practical and motivated soil scientist or agronomist who enjoys applying science in real‑world farming systems. You will bring:

  • Degree in Agricultural Science, Agronomy or Soil Science
  • Relevant industry or applied research experience
  • Strong understanding of soil science in Australian farming systems
  • Effective communicator, comfortable working with growers and stakeholders
