The role

  • Full Time, Continuing
  • Level 5 - $79,610 to $86,913 p.a. (plus 17% superannuation)
  • Wagga Wagga

Charles Sturt University is seeking a skilled Technical Officer to manage field operations and support research activities within a multidisciplinary team. The role involves operating and maintaining field research equipment, assisting with crop and livestock research, and coordinating with team members and collaborating organisations to implement experiments. The successful candidate will also oversee casual staff tasks and contribute to impactful research projects in crop agronomy, physiology, and livestock production.

Candidates who are successful in progressing to interview will be contacted in early January 2025.

About you

  • Strong background in agricultural sciences, particularly in crop agronomy, physiology, and livestock production
  • Hands-on experience operating and maintaining field research equipment (e.g., tractors, GPS systems, sprayers, plot harvesters)
  • Highly organised with excellent coordination and communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team environment
