Associate Professor in Advanced Restorative Dentistry

We are seeking an experienced clinical academic with a significant international research profile and a track record in attaining research grants, within the field of restorative dentistry and/or biomedical science, to provide academic leadership in the Centre for Rural Dentistry and Oral Health.

The successful candidate will engage in curriculum development and the teaching of preclinical and clinical restorative dentistry, prosthodontics and biomaterial science.

The appointee will also provide academic leadership within the discipline and will have the opportunity to progress an active research profile with a strategic research and innovation focus aligned to the overall strategies of the University.

The appointee will have demonstrated experience in providing high quality person-centred care in private or public health dental practice settings, have a current and significant international profile and track record in research publication and output, prior undergraduate and postgraduate teaching experience, and can demonstrate the ability to provide effective leadership in building people capability.

This position is required for face-to-face and online teaching and as such remote work options will not be accommodated. Generous assistance, including financial, is available to help you relocate to take up this leadership opportunity.

To be successful you will have:

  • A PhD degree relevant to the discipline
  • Full registration as a dentist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) or eligibility to be registered as a dentist with Ahpra
  • Demonstrated clinical experience and a postgraduate qualification in advanced restorative dentistry or prosthodontics
  • Evidence of the delivery of high quality student centred learning and teaching
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in the discipline in research and the scholarship of teaching and learning
