Casual Associate Lecturer/ Lecturer In Policing Studies

Apply to join the School of Policing Studies in its unique partnership with the NSW Police Force teaching students studying to be a Police Officer with the NSW Police Force.

The Role

  • A casual contract would be aligned to the teaching of six student intakes per year – working 37.5 hours a week teaching online or at the NSW Police Academy, Goulburn.
  • In terms of the rates of pay, this is based on experience levels and educational qualifications, and will range from $47.67 - $71.51 per hour. for more information visit our website.
We are currently seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals in various areas of specialisation of policing and law enforcement, to teach on the Associate Degree in Policing Practice.

As part of the course requirements, you will engage and teach students both online and on-campus at the NSW Police Academy Campus, Goulburn.

To be successful you will have:

  • A relevant Bachelors level degree qualification and/or significant industry experience as a police officer.
  • Current knowledge and understanding of policing through industry engagement or scholarly activity.
  • Commitment to building strong professional relationships internally and externally.

It is a requirement of entry to the premises of the NSW Police Academy that contractors be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.  As such, appointments are conditional upon satisfying and maintaining COVID-19 vaccination.  You are required to provide evidence of your vaccination status or of a valid exemption.

The School of Policing Studies is Australia's leading provider of police recruit level training. Charles Sturt University and the NSW Police Force have a unique partnership to design, develop and deliver tertiary courses in policing. The partnership is an important strategy in the development of police recruit level training in NSW. The resources of both a large residential police academy and a responsive and progressive university have been brought together to provide a balanced, innovative service in police recruit level training and education.

The School of Policing Studies has staff located at Goulburn who primarily teach and undertake subject development in the undergraduate policing program for on-campus and online students studying to be a Police Officer with the NSW Police Force. In addition, an integral component of an academic staff member’s workload is dedicated to professional industry liaison, by maintaining sound relationships with industry agencies.
