The Role

The Director, Public Relations and Communication delivers strategic advice and services to the University, on the University's media, corporate affairs; and external and internal communications functions. Working with a broad range of university leadership and the office of media and communications, The Director holds responsibility for Charles Sturt's overarching media and communications reputation.

The Director will lead the development and implementation of the following strategic functions:

  • Media and Public Relations
  • External Communications
  • Internal Communications
  • Digital and social media communications
  • Local Area media and communications

To be successful you will have:

  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience;
  • Proven capabilities in designing and implementing an integrated communications, media and public relations strategy for a large organisation;
  • An excellent understanding of the Australian higher education policy and funding context; and
  • Demonstrated in-depth experience in writing and developing research-informed content, that reflects political, economic and social environments impacting local, state and national levels.
