We are calling for Expressions of Interest from professionals within the medical and /or allied health discipline to submit their interest for a variety of academic roles within the School of Rural Medicine.

The School of Rural Medicine has various part time positions available, based in Orange, in curriculum design and delivery, stream leads for student Portfolios, Problem Based Learning (PBL) and General Practice and academic support for Year Coordinators.

The School of Rural Medicine is looking for candidates who hold a medical degree, general or specialist registration with Aphra, or equivalent experience and standing in a relevant allied health discipline area.  Preferably you have experience in the rural health context and in a tertiary setting and an interest and ability in supporting and inspiring medical students from diverse backgrounds. Candidates with a background in medical education either through experience or training or willingness to gain training are encouraged to apply.

About Us

The newly established School of Rural Medicine at Charles Sturt University commenced teaching the Doctor of Medicine (undergraduate) five year program in 2021 with the first cohort of 39 students.  The first two years of the medicine program are based in Orange, NSW and clinical years three to five are based in Orange and various locations in rural and regional NSW and Victoria. The Doctor of Medicine is a Joint Program in Medicine from Charles Sturt University and Western Sydney University.

The Doctor of Medicine is a vertically and horizontally integrated five year course with Problem Based Learning (PBL) one of the key activities of the first two years of the course and provides the stimulus for students learning each week.
